Business Intelligence - Industry DUE DILIGENCE - RUSSIA Within the framework of an acquisition project, our client sought to verify the bona fides of a potential industrial and commercial partner based in the Oblast of Leningrad, Russia. GEOS Business Intelligence collected information on the career path of the main director (professional references, reputation, key company data and figures and an assessment of company assets). We focused particularly on current and past lawsuits and the company’s business environment. The intelligence we delivered showed that the main director had a dubious reputation: connections with an ongoing corruption case, accusations of embezzlement, a variety of lawsuits involving the company, and an ongoing investigation into the company’s tangible assets. Given the facts and analyses provided by GBI, our client decided to put an end to the acquisition project. The acquisition was clearly more a threat than an opportunity.
