GEOS investigated to verify whether one of the companies entertained relations with local organised crime and check if their accounts were tax compliant. The conclusions of the due diligence were negative and the company was immediately shut down. Due to the discreet, swift action conducted by GEOS, the Group was able to avoid mafia infiltration and safeguard its corporate reputation.
International Security - Repatriation of air crash victims CRISIS MANAGEMENT - MARACAIBO - 2005 In the wake of the airline crash at Maracaibo, Venezuela in 2005, GEOS provided logistics support for the preservation of the bodies of the 160 victims of the crash. Work by GEOS was formally recognized at the French Council of Ministers with GEOS named as an institutional partner with proven operational capabilities.
International Security - Health crisis management INFLUENZA A PANDEMIC - LATIN AMERICA - 2009 The Mexican Ministry of Health declared the first cases of Influenza A. The disease gradually spread around the world. Governments introduced a range of measures (information, security, safety). All sectors of the economy were affected. As a precautionary measure, the Mexican branch of the GEOS Group activated its crisis management platform to respond to demands from clients seeking to protect employees and ensure business continuity. To this end, GEOS Mexico, with backup from the GEOS Brazil and Venezuela offices, in particular technical support, provided operational services to clients who were not prepared to deal with such a crisis. Legal support services, in cooperation with a law firm, was also provided to protect the corporate image and confidential data of our clients. Monitoring and real-time information services, consultancy and business contingency plans, logistics coordination and assistance, deployment upon request of the Group’s resources to assist the French authorities, were all put into place to manage the situation. The image and the reputation of GEOS clients were not affected by the crisis. Other French firms however, without professional support, were badly impacted.
