ON SITE EMISSARY – SOMALIA - 2000
During the Summer of 2000, a ship on its way to Madagascar was attacked by pirates off the Horn of Africa.
Following a request made by the shipowner, GEOS carried out negotiations which led to the release of the hostages as well as the safe retrieval of the ship and cargo.

MARITIM SECURITY - GULF OF GUINEA - 2003

A Scandinavian ship captain assigned to deliver cargo through pirate-infested waters refused to set sail without an on-board Ship Security Officer. GEOS had a specialist on board within 48 hours.
The security officer advised the captain, coordinated operations off the coast in conjunction with local authorities, organised security prevention measures while also upgrading attack preparedness and response capabilities.

SECURITY ENGINEERING - FRANCE / ITALY - 2002 2004

A consortium appointed by the French and Italian governments called on GEOS to establish and design a security strategy and policy that would apply to a major trans-national Public Works transportation project as well as to assess the projected ten year costs. Over an 18 month period GEOS conducted a global risk analysis, created risk analysis scenarios involving over one hundred attack and security incidents, drafted the baseline security procedures and established the requisite standards.
The GEOS Risk Advisory Bureau allowed two governments to validate, price and design the security risk master plan for a major project.

INTERNATIONAL EXECUTIVE PROTECTION PROGRAM – FRANCE - 2008

A major French rail transport corporation, with extensive presence in high-risk countries, called on the GEOS Risk Advisory Bureau to help them reduce the vulnerability of personnel in the field to acts of intentional damage, sabotage and blackmail and to reinforce major crisis response and management capabilities.
GEOS mobilised two experts who, successively, designed the security organisation and management processes, established the security systems needed for each phase of the life cycle of the project, designed a comprehensive journey management policy for the group and provided operational support to Top Management for the implementation of appropriate crisis management tools.

PORT FACILITY SECURITY ASSESSMENT - LE HAVRE PORT - APRIL 2009

Le Havre Port “Florida Tip”of had to comply with the ISPS Code and to conduct Port Facility Security Assessment (PFSA). Port Facility Security compliance means that port authorities must conduct a security assessment followed by the drafting of a port or a port facility security plan. The “Florida Tip” houses the new “cruiser berth” at Le Havre Port, a berth much appreciated by cruise ship owners. It strengthens the position of Le Havre Port as the fifth largest port in Europe and the largest in France for foreign trade and the container traffic.
As the assessment can only be conducted either by a State agency or by a Recognized Security Organization, the PFSA was conducted by GEOS, a certified RSO since June 2008.
Experts from GEOS proceeded with a comprehensive scoping of the threats and risks at the port facility, and drafted a series of concrete measures to be implemented to counter such risks, which was validated by Le Havre Port CPSC, the Local Port Security Committee, one of the largest in France. Thus, GEOS successfully enters port facility security market in France.
