Qualifications required :

• University degree in computer science, IT, mathematical or statistical models and systems. Professional training and experience in the area of computer technologies, technical knowledge in the field of communications and statistical systems infrastructure,
• Experience working in the field,?• Organisational, planning and problem-solving capabilities, team management and maintaining good working relations within the team, capable of working under pressure, flexibility,
• Capable of working under difficult conditions and in hostile environments,
• Linguistics skills: (+ one additional language : Spanish, French or Portuguese),
• Management experience in international or European government sector a plus (UN/European Union).

Work performed :

• Ensures computer systems are working for entire duration of mission, ensures a reliable, effective and fast IT system and manages mission web site,
• Facilitates communications for all team members (landlines, fax/printer, cellular phones, satellite phones, etc.),
• Monitors and supports data transmissions,
• Provides daily support to the mission,
• Develops and supervises security of the mission’s IT systems and networks,
• Establishes good relations with local partners,?• Assists with the preparation of the media charter for the press.

Location : Africa, South America and Asia (on a case by case basis)

Type of contract : contracts to hire as of 2010 (2 to 4 months)
